The Runner

This piece is a memorial to "Julie" and the image was taken from a photograph of her in a marathon in the 1970's. I hired a runner that was her size and had a similar stride and documented her running so that I would have her correct motion and the correct movement of the clothing. To insure authenticity to the period, I located a pair of vintage Nike waffle shoes like the ones she was wearing in the photograph to use as a model for the sculpture.
